Picture yourself with boundless energy.
Consider how it would feel to sleep through the night. Do you know what it’s like to find a healthcare practitioner that tunes in to what your body needs?

Dr. Sharleen Lawrence, L.Ac., C.Ht., DTCM

Dr. Sharleen uses the most advanced tools that can reveal the root cause of your symptoms. She will listen intently to understand exactly how it is you want to feel and make a plan for you to achieve your wellness goals.

Dr. Sharleen earned her Master's degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine in 2014. Her path to helping people achieve wellness began in 2005 while practicing the Japanese art of Seifukujutsu massage. During her massage training, she learned about Asian Medicine and Acupuncture, and it resonated so powerfully, she knew she had found her calling. Dr. Sharleen also has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and Information Systems. After a short career in both financial analysis and database programming within the Nevada gaming industry, Dr. Sharleen attended the prestigious Emperor's College in Santa Monica, CA where she graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Sharleen has a broad range of clinical experience, which includes treating addiction, supporting mental health, digestive disorders, thyroid health, other autoimmune conditions, and fertility.

Dr. Sharleen has worked for many years to refine her technique so each needle is inserted painlessly. Many patients are surprised to learn that the needles are inserted before they are even aware of it.

Since 2018, Dr. Sharleen has been training with Master Tung style practitioner, Dr. Robert Chu. Dr. Chu is a second-generation disciple of Master Tung who’s family’s acupuncture lineage dates back 700 years. Master Tung was the private acupuncturist to the President of Cambodia and it is said that he was able to successfully treat any disease with only one needle. Dr. Chu is training Dr. Sharleen to become this level of acupuncturist, picking as few points as possible to be the most effective in treating the patient’s condition.

Dr. Sharleen had the rewarding opportunity of being mentored by the respected Dr. Patricia Fitzgerald, DAOM, DHM, LAc, CCN. During her tenure with Dr. Fitzgerald, Dr. Sharleen learned and fell in love with the use of functional medicine for treating patients in the modern world. Functional medicine is a holistic approach to treating the underlying cause of disease by using lab data, dietary changes and supplements to correct the negative influence of genetics, environmental, and lifestyle factors. Dr. Sharleen continues her extensive, post-graduate training in Functional Medicine and uses the highest quality supplements that can only be distributed by qualified practitioners. Dr. Sharleen completed her Doctorate of Traditional Chinese Medicine in August of 2022 with a focus in functional and integrative medicine.

With the intention to offer a complete wellness experience to her patients, Dr. Sharleen finished a 500-hour course in hypnotherapy after being inspired by watching the documentary Heal. She finds that combining acupuncture with hypnotherapy in her HypnoPuncture treatments allows the patient to achieve healing on all three levels of mind, body, and soul.

In her spare time, Dr. Sharleen enjoys focusing on fitness and tapping into nature: hiking and camping. Dr. Sharleen has been a long-distance runner since 2008 and enjoys pushing the limits of her body with yoga. Her other passions include reading, camping, and spending as much time as she can with animals.
